-| BASIC OVERWORLD WALKTHROUGH |-

This walkthrough is very simple. It will tell you where you should go next, and what you should find in each dungeon. It will not, however, tell you exactly where to go or how to get through certain puzzles and whatnot. This one is divided up by level/minilevel, and does not include when you should go to each optional dungeon.

ML-1 Kasuto Mountain:
This one is easy. After getting the sword, go east one screen climb the ladder and go in the warp to unlock it in the World Map. Go back to the overworld and head east. Climb Kasuto Mountain, and in the northeast is the cave. At the end you'll get a full heart container, and in New Kasuto you can buy a bomb bag.

Lvl-1 Three Eye Rock:
Next you should head down the mountain and go northwest into Kasuto Desert. Keep going west along the shore and you will come across a cave in the desert. In three eye rock, you'll pick up the blue candle, and you can pick up a bigger bomb bag for 75 rupees (but only if you already have bombs).

ML-2 Moblin Brothers:
Go west from Three Eye Rock over the bridge into Old Kasuto. Follow the cave there to the Lost Hills. From there you can head west then south to reach a new section of Hyrule. If you keep going southeast you'll enter the Moblin Woods. In the center of the whole thing is a cave where you will get the wooden arrows.

Lvl-2 Serpent's Lair:
West of the Moblin Woods is the Grassy Woods. There's a mountain in the northwest corner of the Grassy Woods is a mountain called Serpent Rock. At the top is the next dungeon, which has the wooded boomerang and the cross (amulet 1).

Lvl-3 Abandoned Mansion:
If you keep going west, you will enter the Kakariko Outskirts. Southwest is Kakariko Village, but north of that is an island with the next dungeon. You'll need the bow to beat the level, but you will get the whistle and the red candle here.

ML-3 Guardian Battle:
Northwest of the start is a statue of a ghoma. You can wake it up using the whistle, but you'll have to go farther north to fight it. Your reward will be the white sword.

Lvl-4 Maze Island:
North and east of the Guardian Battle you will enter Maze Island. The island itself is a maze, and on the eastern side of it is the palace. Both the ladder and the power bracelet are in this dungeon.

ML-4 Secret Grave:
Go all the way south to the Kakariko Outskirts, and then head west over the bridge. Continueing west, you will enter the Lost Woods. You can cross the southern section of it and buy some information about how to get through. Once across the Lost Woods, head north into the Ancient Graveyard. The dungeon in here will lead you to the magic wand.

Lvl-5 Lost Bastion:
On the west side of the Lost Woods is another information shop. You will buy pieces of the maze path to get to a new area in the Lost Woods. Put them in the right order, and you'll find your way to a small pond. Use the whistle to open the entrance of the dungeon, where you'll find the hookshot and magic book.

ML-5 Death Mountain Pass:
Northeast of the Lost Woods is the Foot of Death Mountain. Along the north border you'll find a cave near some water. This level is a mix of caves and overworld, and you will need the magic wand, magic book, and hookshot to get through. At the end you will be able to buy a bigger bomb bag, and you will end up in Saria.

ML-6 Tantari Cave:
Directly north of Saria is a small swamp, and on the other side is a cave leading north. Northeast of that cave you'll enter the Northwest Plains. North of that is the Tantari Desert, and in the center along the shore is the cave. Here you will get the hammer.

Lvl-6 Parapa Palace:
East of the Northwest Plains is the Dark Forest. Along the northeast side there is a cave leading to the western section of Parapa Desert. Cross this desert to get to the next dungeon, where you will get the lens of truth and power glove.

ML-7 Old King's Tomb:
Use the hammer to go south and east of the Dark Forest, into the Old Cemetary. In the eastern half there is an obvious grave that can be pushed, where you can drop into a cave. The exit from the cave is to the west, but east will bring you to the silver arrow and the Central Island.

Lvl-7 Island Palace:
Once on Central Island, just follow the path around and up it. The dungeon is out in the open at the top, and you will find the raft and mirror shield.

Lvl-8 Spectacle Rock:
Way back at the Foot of Death Mountain, there was a small pond you could use the raft to get across. Sail across and you will be able to climb Death Mountain. There are only a few forks in the path, but take the right way and you will come across a pair of identicle rocks near the northwest corner. Inside is the boots and gold arrow.

ML-8 Midoro Palace:
Head to the Saria Outskirts near the Dark Forest and Old Cemetary. Go west along the north wall and there will be a cave that leads across a small pond going west. Get through Midoro Swamp after that, and you will make it to the palace. This dungeon contains the flippers.

Lvl-9 North Castle:
This is in the middle of the Northwest Plains and you need the flippers to get it. Through one of houses is a way to open up the entrance. The first floor is like a normal dungeon except for two warps you can't get to near the beginning, and contains the gold suit and master sword. A warp at the beginning of the second floor will unlock one of the two on the first, and it procedes pretty normally as a dungeon. The third unlocks the second warp near the first floor entrance. The first half is just a few normal rooms, but after going out on the roof and in another door, there will be a series of boss battles leading up to Ganon.

Optional Dungeons:
There are four regular dungeons, and three fairy dungeons. None are mandatory, but the first two regular ones are highly recommended. Some of these you will need certain items to get into.

The first is in the far eastern part of the Lost Hills, and will give you the two wallets. One is in the Great Palace, if you go south and west of the start of the game and up the mountain. The third is east of Kakariko Village in the Magical Shortcut. The last is on an island northwest of Kakariko Village.

The first fairy dungeon is just east of the Kakariko Outskirts, in the northwest corner of the Hylia Woods. Another is in the Lost Woods (not the maze part). The last is hidden in the center of the Lost Hills.
